Neil Diamond's Greatest Hits Live by Rob Garrett
Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” LAS VEGAS SHOW RESIDENCY keeps going strong in the “MODERN SHOWROOMS” at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.
The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the greatest and most admired singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.
In addition to being one of the biggest selling and concert drawing artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the soundtrack of our lives — including some of the most unforgettable songs on the planet.
In January 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being affected by Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s live performance legacy continues to be celebrated for audiences across the globe through longtime Las Vegas performer Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.
Ask Google “who Neil Diamond hits live Las Vegas tribute is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll get the same answer.
Like his legendary counterpart, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In May 1974, his parents moved the family from New York City to Las Vegas, where, two years later, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett formed his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before transitioning from cover band frontman to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his musical idols.
In 1995, Garrett was selected by Paul Revere, leader of “The Raiders” to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.
What was meant to be a limited run turned into a three-year residency.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to create his own tribute production.
He began a steady touring schedule, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”
He continues to perform to sold-out venues nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also won numerous awards, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in this year, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.
Alexis Park Hotel Las Vegas is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., near the Las Vegas Strip.
